Assemble to Order Learning Management System

Assemble to Order Learning Management System

$170.47

Every Learning Management System (LMS) comes with a unique bundle of functionalities. Most of these functionalities are neither portable nor common across various LMS. That is, a functionality developed for one LMS cannot be integrated within another LMS. Having noted that the process of software development is not very different from industrial production, we suggest a way of applying the principles of production management to software development in eLearning, particularly in the design of LMS. The functionalities in LMS are developed based on the notion of Assemble to Order (ATO) commonly found in industrial production. The thesis contends that LMS designed using the ATO approach will allow scalable and adaptable integration of functionalities across LMS. The thesis substantiates this claim using a case scenario and analytical results obtained from software engineering metrics such as Function Point Analysis (FPA) and Lines Of Code (LOe. Reputation is the most complex asset of an organization. Despite the call for consistent management of corporate reputation comprehensive approaches to measure and steer a company' s reputation are still in their infancy. Reputation management aims at creating a balance between stakeholder demands, perceptions and corporate reality in order to foster behavior that helps a company achieve its business goals. First, a statistical methodology was proposed to modify the assessment of estimated corrosion rates for the pressure components in conventional methodology. Furthermore, the estimated corrosion rates will be used to assess the failure probability of the pressure components. By adopting First Order Second Moment (FOSM) method, the failure probability is approached for the pressure components. Moreover, for the sake of optimize the inspection and maintenance resources, typical semiquantitative risk based inspection (RBI) methodology to each pressure vessel are proposed in safety management based on the approached failure probability. Besides, the final protection for the pressure equipments when the pressure systems were upset PSVs, are also play important roles to safety management for pressurized system. Evaluating a WebBased Course Management System

Evaluating a WebBased Course Management System

$96.59

This study evaluated a customdesigned course management system in use at a public institution in the United States. While focusing on gathering information relevant to the continued development of the course management system, this study sought to identify the relationship among user characteristics, usability factors, and acceptance of the course management system in order to clarify the application of the Technology Acceptance Model to this unique situation. This study also sought to identify usability problems with course features. The data indicated that three usability factors, ease of navigation, ease of learning, and visual perception were significant predictors of acceptance of the course management system. The usability of features was examined using both Likertscale items and content analysis of openended survey questions. The content analysis of the openended items revealed several specific problems that were commonly encountered while using specific course features. Based on these findings, several recommendations are made toward the improvement of the customdesigned course management system and also toward the improvement of the survey instrument for future use. IT Financial Management

IT Financial Management

$45

It is now accepted that IT functions are a fundamental part of the competitive business model. Instead of simply offering services IT must ‘create value’ for the business. This practical title describes the strong financial skills that IT managers must have in order to support:. • Operations: Finance departments rely heavily on IT managers being able to identify, track and measure costs – sometimes at a very granular level. • Budgeting: the very technical nature of IT operations means that budgeting can be more complex than many other areas. • Project Delivery: large technical project deliveries means that costs can be correspondingly complex to account for. • Business Modeling; pricing models rely heavily on IT managers skills and accuracy. Where one service supports many commercial offerings a strong model is needed to apportion costs appropriately. • Investment and business cases: a sound understanding of the financial contribution the IT assets make to the overall business is critical to gain support for ongoing investment. This outstanding title covers the main financial concepts that managers need to be familiar with in order for IT to take its proper senior place as a contributor to the business. It assumes a basic level of financial understanding and builds on the techniques required almost daily; therefore it is overwhelmingly practical and based on real world scenarios. Not only are the techniques fully described but issues such as. • roles,. • implementation,. • daily management and even. • tooling. are detailed.

Iason Semantic Content Management System

Iason Semantic Content Management System

Everyone knows that modern smart phones can be not only used for speaking to other people. You can play games, listen to music, or surf the internet, for example. But the growing computing power of mobile phones paired with the ability to connect to different types of networks enables the invention of new services which have an additional value for the user. The project IASON (founded by the Artificial Intelligence research group of the University KoblenzLandau) delivers a new locationbased approach for announcing services that are smartly matched against the user profile stored on the phone. The design also considers the often neglected aspects of privacy and cost effectivity. The matchmaking between announced services and user profiles in IASON is based on Ontologies and Description Logics as a semantic language. But how can a service provider understand and use these scientific constructions in order to built up and maintain his content? In this diploma thesis, a content management for IASON is developed. In contrast to usual content management systems, the focus is set on the semantics of content. To demonstrate its abilities, the KI2005 conference was taken for a showcase. A UserCentric Quality of Service Management System

A UserCentric Quality of Service Management System

$156.13

Wireless networking technologies are becoming very popular for distribution of digital content throughout the home. However, media distribution is not ready yet to satisfy users quality expectations in wireless networks. Due to bandwidth variations and high error rates, a number of Quality of Service (QoS) mechanisms have to be deployed in the network in order to guarantee a certain level of quality. We describe a usercentric QoS management approach based on user preferences. Unlike traditional QoS approaches that always give multimedia applications a predetermined high priority due to their strict latency and loss requirements, the proposed approach classifies traffic according to user preferences, thus, ensuring a certain quality regardless of the application requirements. The application priorities are assigned according to user profiles and automatically updated in case of changes in the network or user environment. The results of this work demonstrate practical applications of the described approach in wireless home networks and should help professionals in finding solutions for improving the overall user experience in digital home.
